Suffolk Sports Day 2026

Over £10,000 was raised at this year’s Suffolk Sports Day!

A huge thank you to the 14 local businesses who teamed up to raise over £10,000 for Home-Start Suffolk, helping us to continue ensuring that family support is just a small step away.

In its fourth year, the corporate sports day event saw over 120 staff from 14 local businesses compete against each other at Trinity Park for the title of Suffolk Sports Day 2026 champions.

The day kicked off with traditional sports day races, including an egg and spoon race, a three-legged race, a space hopper race and an unconventional relay race.

These were followed by a team building challenge where teams were challenged to build the longest freestanding bridge using just straws and sticky tape, while answering quiz questions to earn additional straws to reinforce their attempts.

For the last activities of the day, teams competed in a game of rounders and took on individual challenges which included activities such as axe throwing, croquet, golf putting, welly wanging, netball and a rodeo bull.

All money raised will help us to continue providing critical support to families of all kinds that are struggling in silence behind closed doors.

Tara Spence, CEO at Home-Start Suffolk said: “Fundraising events such as this help us to continue opening doors for local families who may otherwise struggle alone.

“We are very grateful to all 14 businesses who took part in this year’s Suffolk Sports Day, as well as our volunteers, supporters and sponsors whose generosity helped make the day possible, particularly main event sponsors, MSC UK.

“The atmosphere at Suffolk Sports Day 2026 was incredible, with everyone having a ball all day long, staff and volunteers included. This event is for people from local businesses to come together and have a fun day of team building in aid of their local community and we are thrilled it was such a success.

“The teams were all very competitive in trying to become champions, so a huge congratulations to Sona Insurance who were this year’s winners, claiming the title of Suffolk Sports Day 2026 champions.”
