Suffolk Sports Day 2025

Congratulations to our 2025 Suffolk Sports Day champions – BT

Thank you to all the teams who took part in our 2025 Suffolk Sports Day on Thursday 18th September.

Home-Start Suffolk’s third corporate sports day event saw almost 120 staff from 12 teams compete against each other at Trinity Park for the coveted title of Suffolk Sports Day 2025 champions, raising more than £7,500.

The day kicked off with traditional sports day races, followed by a team building challenge where teams were challenged to build the tallest freestanding tower using just paperclips and newspapers which were kindly donated by the East Anglian Daily Times.

Following this, teams competed in a game of rounders and took on individual challenges which including activities such as axe throwing, climbing, croquet, golf, rowing, netball and esports.

All money raised will help the charity to continue empowering parents across Suffolk with the aim of creating a society where children are given the best start in life.

Tara Spence, CEO at Home-Start Suffolk, said “We are very grateful to all 12 businesses who took part in this year’s Suffolk Sports Day, as well as all of our volunteers, event partners and supporters.

“The teams battled hard to become champions so a huge congratulations to BT who came out on top this year.

“Suffolk Sports Day is always a fun day for all those involved, including staff and volunteers, and this year was no different. It was such a great atmosphere and even better that it was in aid of their local community.

“Everyone was sporting smiles all day!”

Suffolk Sports Day 2025 was made possible thanks to the support of main event sponsor MSC UK, as well as challenge sponsors Barnes Construction and AB Ports.

Chris Chamberlain, Head of Customer Experience & Marketing at MSC UK, said: “MSC UK is proud to partner with Home-Start Suffolk, a relationship built on shared values and a commitment to making a meaningful impact across our local community.

“As one of Suffolk’s largest employers, we recognise the great work the Home-Start team provide, and are proud to be supporting their Sports Day event, now in its third year.

“A fantastic day with many local businesses coming together to make a difference through sport and being active.”

Other supporters included Trinity Park who provided use of their venue, David Lloyd and Abbeycroft Leisure who provided individual challenges and the University of Suffolk who provided the addition of an Esports challenge this year to coincide with the launch of their new undergraduate course.
