The Home-Start Hike is open to Families, Individuals and Corporate Teams.
Dogs can also take part this year.
Step out with purpose this September and be part of the Home-Start Hike! Choose from four beautiful countryside routes and walk for a reason that matters to you – whether that’s quality time with the family, a personal challenge or a fun team-building day out with colleagues. Whatever inspires you to take part, your steps will help support a great local cause. Every penny raised goes directly towards helping Suffolk families who are facing tough times – including mental health challenges, loneliness and isolation, domestic abuse and family breakdown.
Lace up, get outdoors, and make a real difference – one step at a time.
There are four beautiful scenic routes in the Suffolk countryside to choose from, all starting and finishing at Kingfisher Leisure Centre in Sudbury. You can choose from 3 miles, 6 miles, 13 miles or 26 miles.

Children taking part in the 3-mile walk can enjoy our fun Letter Hunt along the route. At the start, each child will receive a booklet and a pencil. As they make their way around the course, they’ll need to keep an eye out for hidden letters and write them down in their booklet. Once they’ve found them all, they can unscramble the letters to reveal a special phrase. Successfully solve the word jumble and they’ll receive a well-earned prize at the finish.

Your fundraising efforts mean we can help support more families like Sophia’s.
When Sophia’s son was diagnosed with leukaemia aged just seven, her world changed overnight. A single mum of four, with a baby only six months old, she suddenly found herself juggling hospital stays, chemotherapy, sleepless nights and the overwhelming fear of losing her son. Sophia reached out to Home-Start Suffolk for help, watch her full story here:
We are inviting local businesses, clubs, community groups and teams of friends or family to take on the Home-Start Hike together.
Each team can include up to six people, with every participant can choose the walking distance that suits them. Team members don’t need to walk the same route or stay together.
Adults and children taking part can also purchase event T-shirts, please add these to your order when you sign up.
T-shirts will be available to collect on the day when you sign in for the event. Please note there are changing facilities available at Kingfisher Leisure Centre.

A refreshment stand will be available at Kingfisher Leisure Centre throughout the event. For those participants taking part in the 13 and 26 mile Hike, aid stations will be available at approximately 3 mile intervals.
