Job type: Permanent

Home-Start Suffolk offers a unique service. We recruit and train volunteers, usually parents themselves, to visit families at home and offer informal, friendly and confidential support. The families we help have at least one child under twelve. Our aim is to help parents grow in confidence, strengthen family relationships and build strong links within their community.

Home-Start Suffolk has been commissioned as a provider for the ND (Neuro developmental) Support Service for Suffolk. The service will operate across the health area of Suffolk (this excludes Waveney). It will support children and young people aged 5 to 12 and parent/carers post triage of the ND pathway, from pre diagnosis to post diagnosis support.

The successful candidate will join our SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) team to provide personalised support for parent/carers through a blend of face to face, virtual and group work, enabling them to feel more confident and empowered to manage the issues they face.

The role reflects the Home-Start approach, bringing together trusting relationships, strengths-based practice and skilled volunteer involvement.
